Bhakti (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile application that lets you read aartis and other devotional content in Hindi and English, save favorites, and use the app offline. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Bhakti app or visiting bhakti.app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information (optional): If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from Google, as permitted by your Google account settings. You may use the app as a guest without signing in.
• Favorites: Content you mark as a favorite. When signed in, favorites are stored in your account so they can sync across devices. As a guest, favorites are stored only on your device.
• Language preference: Your chosen app language (Hindi or English), stored on your device during your session.

Information collected automatically

• App usage and device data: Basic technical information such as device type, operating system, and app version to keep the app working and to diagnose issues.
• Offline content: Devotional texts you download for offline reading are cached on your device.
• Advertising data: We show ads through Google AdMob. With your permission on iOS, we may use your device identifier for personalized ads (App Tracking Transparency). Google may also collect device identifiers, ad interaction data, and similar information to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

Information we do not collect

• We do not ask for or use your precise location.
• We do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use your information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Bhakti app and its content.
• Authenticate you when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Sync your favorites across devices when you are signed in.
• Enable offline reading by storing content on your device.
• Display advertisements that help support the free app.
• Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or fraud.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-party services

We use trusted providers to operate the app:

• Supabase — authentication and cloud storage for account data and favorites. Supabase Privacy Policy

• Google AdMob — advertising. AdMob & user data

These providers process data according to their own policies. We only share what is needed for them to provide their services to us.

4. Advertising and consent

Bhakti is free and supported by ads. In regions where required by law (such as the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), we will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can change ad preferences through your device settings or the consent options presented in the app.

5. Data storage and retention

• Account and favorite data are stored securely with our cloud provider while your account is active.
• Offline content and guest favorites remain on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
• If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it for legal reasons.

6. Your choices and rights

• Guest mode: Use the app without signing in; favorites stay on your device only.
• Sign out: You can sign out at any time from Settings in the app.
• Delete account: Signed-in users can permanently delete their account from Settings. This removes your profile and synced favorites from our servers. See our account deletion page for full steps and details.
• Delete local data: Uninstall the app or clear its storage from your device settings.
• Access or deletion: Contact us to request access to or deletion of account data tied to your sign-in.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, GDPR or CCPA). Contact us to exercise those rights.

7. Children’s privacy

Bhakti is a general-audience devotional app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
